19-0

Is 19-0 really fathomable? Since I can remember, every football preseason entails the question: Who will be the last team to lose and how deep into the season. Not this year. The question is now, will the New England Patriots lose a game this season. There is every reason to read into this issue because this team exudes perfection in every aspect of the game. Starting from ownership all the way down to player personnel. Is this the year the '72 Dolphins have been fearing?
During the most advertised free agency to date, the Patriots signed pro bowl linebacker Adalius Thomas and perennial hall of famer Randy Moss. These additions added star power to a team who doesn't need it. The genius of head coach Bill Bellichick enables his team to win handily week after week despite any animosity with the media or NFL. The preparation is evident and the perfect season reflects it. 5-0 isn't enough, they demand perfection.
Simply put, the play of the New England Patriots through the first 6 weeks has been nothing short of extraordinary. Brady is putting up record-breaking numbers with 20 touchdown passes, Peyton Manning's single season record is in serious jeopardy. The depth of the receiving core is unprecedented making it easy for Brady to operate. It doesn't hurt that he has only been sacked 5 times all year.
The numbers are unbelievable, the coaches want more, is perfection really possible? The art of a Bellichick win is a plan created for the week. This plan has proven results and there is no reason they cannot win 16 regular season and even run straight through the playoffs for the unimaginable.

Yes, as much as it pains me to say it, the Patriots are good...really good. But they will not go 16-0 and here is why. Even if they find a way to get past the Colts in Week 9 they will lose in the last few weeks. Theres no question that they will clinch the division early and in doing so they are not stupid enough to care enough about a perfect record if it means jeapordising the health of their players entering the playoffs.

No matter if they go 16-0 or not this is the best Patriots team I have ever seen. I hate the Patriots but you cannot hate the way they play the game. After watching the Dallas game this weekend there is no doubt in my mind that the Patriots will win it all this year. There offense is simply unstoppable and Tom Brady is on point.

dbrook, I have to completely disagree with your comment. What better way for the Patriots to stick it to the media/NFL by going 16-0 after being called cheaters? This improved performance of the Patriots is clearly in direct correlation to these accusations. Additionally, why wouldn't the Patriots want to go 16-0? I understand that being fresh for the playoffs is important, but being 16-0 is one of the few milestones that Tom Brady and the Patriots have yet to achieve. If he can accomplish this feat, Brady will undoubtedly be recognized as one of, if not the, best quarterback in the history of the NFL. Think about it; who would have more impressive statistics? He already has 3 Super bowls (and appear to be on the way to a 4th), he is on route to a record number of TD passes in a season, and to top it all off, he led one of only two teams to a 16-0 finish in the history of the NFL. Sounds like a pretty nice resume to me. the Patriots can and will go 16-0 this season. The only thing that remains to be seen: who will play them in the Super bowl?

The patriots definately have the potential for the perfect season... The team has assembled an amazing offense, featuring lots of young talent as well as the experianced Randy Moss. Put wonderboy Tom Brady behind that, and then a solid defense on top of that and you have a flawless team, capable of stomping out anyone in the NFL this year.
